Me Martinez practices principally in civil and commercial litigation, as well as business transactions, particularly in litigious situations.

In litigious matters, he has acted in various areas, including commercial disputes, banking matters, manufacturers and sellers liability, defamation lawsuits, public law matters and defending class actions. He has appeared before the Courts at all levels in the province of Quebec, including certain administrative tribunals, the Federal Courts and has been involved in matters at the Supreme Court of Canada. When appropriate, he seeks the resoltution of conflicts through mediation and negotiation.

Me Martinez is entrusted, from time to time, with workplace investigations for the application of harassment policies, including psychological harassment.

Me Martinez holds a bachelor of commerce obtained with distinction from McGill University, and he also completed the Canadian Securities Course offered by the Canadian Securities Institute (ICVM), with honor. He then completed his law degree at the University of Montreal during which he completed an internship under the Honorable Mr. Justice André Rochon, judge at the Court of Appeal for Quebec.

Me Martinez worked in securities at the legal department of BCE Inc. prior to completing his articling for admission to the Quebec Bar with a leading national law firm. He began his practice with Deslauriers Jeansonne s.e.n.c. since its inception, thereafter Deslauriers & Co., Attorneys s.a., becoming the firm’s Vice-president in 2012.

In 2015, Me Martinez was a lecturer teaching the law of contracts at the Faculty of Law of the University of Montreal. He has also given training courses in the area of University discipline.
