The founder of Deslauriers & Co., Attorneys s.a., Me Sylvain Deslauriers was a partner in the commercial litigation team of one of Canada’s national leading law firms. In 2003, he founded the firm Deslauriers Jeansonne s.e.n.c., which has continued as Deslauriers & Co. since 2012.

Me Deslauriers pleaded and still pleads various cases before the civil and administrative Courts in Quebec, the Federal Courts and the Supreme Court of Canada.  

A recognized practitioner in insolvency and restructuring matters for which his expertise is sought out, he also advises public authorities on public/private project financing partnerships.

Moreover, with the benefit of his 40-years of experience, Me Deslauriers counsels certain clients on governance, legal risk management and establishing strategies in situations of crisis. 

Me Deslauriers has participated as an arbitrator in several commercial matters or in labor relations. He was the president of the Arbitration Committee instituted under the Canada Energy Act. He has also assisted clients in national and international mediations. 

While continuing in private practice, Me Deslauriers acted as a Crown prosecutor for the Outremont Municipal Court, as a lecturer at the University of Sherbrooke and as a teacher at the Quebec Bar School.

Me Deslauriers was also member of the Board of Directors of the Young Bar Association of Montreal and of the Quebec Bar. On numerous occasions, he sat on several Quebec Bar committees, including the Disciplinary Council. He assists and counsels non-profit organizations, such as Tel-Aide. He was a member of the Board of Directors for the Quebec Pulmonary Association and the St. Marcelline Villa Foundation. 

Me Deslauriers is married to Ms. Lisette Laberge and they have two children.
